The Hundreds ON BLAST‘s Rob Heppler and The Jenn Klein are the odd couple that are always trying to get even.

Josh Madden doesn’t need to tell you he’s cool. Just look at what he’s got on. Not a re-pro Beastie Boys “Check Your Head” tee! HAZE x Glen E. Friedman on the front. See no evil. Hear no evil. Speak no evil.

O.G. graphic on the back.

Oh man, the choice of a Straight Edge generation. Can’t believe Josh has got the vintage Swatch X or the “X-Rated,” again NOT a reproduction. Originally made by Swatch in 1987, the watch was soon adopted by hardcore kids around the world and has been flipping through the generations since. I guess we’re in the midst of another resurgence right now, with the watch fetching as high as $500 on Ebay. Makes me wish I still had mine from high school.

Olivia Munn‘s future is so bright…

You remember my old friend Jayne? Not like she’s 60 years old, but “old friend” like I’ve known her for a long time.
Jayne is perhaps best known for running the blog, STOP IT RIGHT NOW, which has now found its way to Tumblr.

She is next gonna be best known for making these novelty skateboards as an homage to the fashionista-famous Celine print that most readers of this blog will remember as “Oh hey, didn’t Kanye wear that at Coachella?”

There are only 100 of these boards total, with roughly a few for promo. So you’re looking at about 30 of each.

Email Jayne to order one immediately before the Tumblr bloodsuckers devour it!

Stop it right now Jayne.

The Descendents weren’t the only band to play the Roseland in New York City the other night. We were also there to support the homey Toby play with H2O in his own backyard.
3,500 rabid fans later…

It’s always a challenge to shoot H2O shows because I impulsively put down my camera to finger-point and shout along to the choruses. #hardcorekidproblems

“When it began, for those who don’t know
it didn’t matter how you looked or what you wore to a show
dress codes, FUCK NO! we didn’t care
about the brand of your jeans and all that shit in your hair

But now the biggest part is all about the image and not the art
Fashion before passion!
And at nights, it makes me mad that I should have to ask:
What happened to the passion? (Passion!)
What -happened to- the reason for screaming?
What happened the music and the message that I love?
What happened to the hard work? (Hard work!)
And why does everybody look the same?
What happened the music and the message that I love?

And I know, that people change
and we go through different stages in life
and I’m not here to criticize
but the reason I scream, is a feeling inside

But now the biggest part is all about the image and not the art
Fashion before passion!
And at nights, it makes me mad that I should have to ask:
What happened to the passion? (Passion!)
What -happened to- the reason for screaming?
What happened the music and the message that I love?
What happened to the hard work? (Hard work!)
And why does everybody look the same?
What happened the music and the message that I love?

Lost (1,2,3,4) lifetime ago it seems
you gave up on your wildest dreams
but I refuse to let mine go
I took an oath, you can find me here
with an open heart and ears
refusing to surrender
I can’t believe they don’t remember
what it feels like to be young

What happened to the passion? (Passion!)
What -happened to- the reason for screaming?
What happened the music and the message that I love?
What happened to the hard work? (Hard work!)
And why does everybody look the same?
What happened the music and the message that I love?”

That song’s entitled “What Happened?” by H2O and it’s a message that goes beyond hardcore, beyond punk and music; it extends across all cultural horizons that were once driven by passion and hard work but then replaced by image and fronting. Church, Toby, tabernacle.

Toby’s still spearheading One Life One Chance, spreading the gospel of a Positive Mental Attitude and a Drug Free life to youth worldwide. One of the kids who recently heard him speak came out to see him tonight.

Next on H2O’s agenda is the Don’t Forget Your Roots album, 15 cover songs from bands that influenced their own sound. In stores November 15th…

We sat down with legendary LA based DJ CMinus to discuss everything from the lack of good music on radio to secret tour stories involving strippers and a banana. That super heavy amazing song at the end? It’s by CMinus and Dave Grohl. You’re welcome.

On Saturday morning, The Hundreds hosted a special invitation-only brunch at the Red Bull space in Manhattan. Instead of just throwing another BBQ or party, we took a different route, one with which we could actually talk to, interact, and build with major players in the New York community: friends and family, old and new alike.

NA (Deadline), Dave (SSUR x Black Scale), Vlad (VANS), and Ben Hundreds.

Alfred (Black Scale).

That’s Kris from the best hardcore/punk band you’ve never heard (of), GO DEEP, on the right, and Heather.

Hawaii Mike and his 9-year-old son who illustrates better than most graphic designers in our industry. I told him he and his friend should start the world’s youngest Streetwear brand, printing graphic tees just for kids. If skaters, athletes, and rappers are getting younger, shouldn’t Streetwear brands be? (half-serious)

NA, Jorge Peniche, and Epic.

Interesting…Ben is interested. Mone and Alex must be talking about food or money or some dreadful calamity.

Gabe, DJ EQUAL, and Martini.

Eric and Alyasha Owerka-Moore. They’re like the Spy vs. Spy versions of each other, not being racist!

The crew from Belief in Astoria, Queens. This photograph is symmetrical.

Kristiana and NA.

Gabby and Kathleen Swanson (Ogilvy).

Chef Mo and Dizzy.

Brooke Nipar, Jasper, and Jon Carlo (Oliver Peoples).

Our 2 hosts for the day were NA and the inimitable Josh Madden (on the left).

13th Witness in these Phoenixes.

Sammy da Joo and Justin from The Hundreds New York.

Alex Corporan, Alyasha, and John Forte (The Fugees).

Caroline Bubnis (The Door) and Ashley (Cilantro Killer).

This is what Dave (The World’s Best Ever) and I look like after one too many brunchtime Bloody Marys.

And thanks to the rest who didn’t get photographed but whose presence was much appreciated.

And also thank you to Red Bull for the support. Speaking of which, this week in New York, Red Bull’s showcasing hip-hop artists discussing and performing their iconic albums in their native boroughs. Yesterday night was Mobb Deep, tomorrow night is Slick Rick in the Bronx, Wednesday is Wu-Tang in Staten Island, Thursday is Black Moon in Brooklyn, and Friday night is Diplomats in Harlem. Dude. Serious.

Back at 96 Grand in SoHo: The Hundreds New York.

Sammy da Joo and NA are New York The Hundreds. They’re New York first, The Hundreds second.

BAIK, Cilantro Killer, and Benstagram (follow Ben on Instagram to witness his true calling: @benhundreds)

Gita.

Shutterbuggin’ out. Brooke Nipar (rhymes with “sniper,” appropriate because of her chosen profession as a photographer), and Kareem Black (rhymes with “NOT wack,” appropriate because he’s an awesome picture-taker as well.)

SMILE.

My new friends, Chad and Andrea, remind me of another Chad and Andrea I know who aren’t together. So to my other friends Chad and Andrea, this is what you’d look like if you were boyfriend and girlfriend.

Charlie and his family are from Brisbane, Australia. Charlie isn’t here though, he’s back in Oz, after recently celebrating his 21st birthday here in New York. So this morning, he texted his dad at 3am and told him to get to THNY to buy a GRND cap. Georgie (his sister) doesn’t mind because her favorite store, Alexander Wang, faces THNY, so the family kills 2 birds with 1 stone. Speaking of, Charlie likes to call Georgie Greg as a term of endearment. Now 1 million of you know everything about Charlie and his family and I bet Charlie is super embarassed.

Elliott’s wearing our New York TEAM snap-back in navy that we sold out of here at THNY. It looks pretty faded and worn-in at this point and he’s looking for another, to no avail. He now understands what most of our newer customers don’t get about The Hundreds: Once something sells out, the general rule is it doesn’t get made again. No matter how small or big the numbers. So Elliott bought a New York Badam tee, but this time he bought 2. Lesson learned.

Ease da Man is a dad! His mixtape, “AVERAGE SIZEd PENIS” can now be downloaded for free HERE.

Speaking of dads, either Ray is a really good father or he’s renting someone else’s baby because his son is RAD.

Kristiana’s a familiar face from home who’s recently made the move to New York. Luuuuuucky New York.
