USA TODAY has put up some new (as well as some old) stills from the production of Spike Jonze’s WHERE THE WILD THINGS ARE. You could say that I’m kinda excited for this movie.

EDIT: The official trailer is now up. With Arcade Fire to boot. It just keeps getting better.

The POST life.

Friday was fun.

Ryan stopped by. Formerly an Inland Empire native, now an SF local, I grew up listening to and watching Ryan’s band, one of the greatest hardcore acts in music history, CHAIN OF STRENGTH.

When they’re not busy making tunes, Micah and Alex help run THSF. If you’re in the know, you may have heard of Alexander Spit and his group, The Instant Messengers.. If not, make your way over to VIDEO DAZE to catch up on a few more vids from the music man.

Polejam.

Choices, choices.

The Twitter Walk. Also known as the Blackberry Strut.

The Hundreds San Francisco‘s 1 Year Anniversary Party was thiiiiiis close to not happening Friday night. An hour before the doors opened, 3 cops had already rolled up on THSF, sweating Dorian for his beer, and one of the dudes in line got mugged by a couple Tenderloin crackheads. But, within hours, the festivities were underway, with all the homeys from the city out in full force, the liquor ran out twice, and we even got in the 2am session at Pearl’s. Thanks to all who made it out.. see you next year.
Believe it or not, I didn’t have my camera on me. Click on ynoT? to see the rest of Tony’s flicks from the party.

San Francisco is known for 3 things. Fog, hippies, and designer Benny Gold.

Benny met us on the corner with Levi in tow. 11-month-old half-French bulldog / half-amazing.

Stairway to Heaven.

BG’s always workin’ on a range of projects. Here, showing first photos of his candle, based on the Benny Gold toy-plane logo. The construction is smart, watch out for it.

Life on wheels. Track bikes and skateboards, vintage and new, all shapes and sizes, peeking out from every corner.

Actions speak louder than words.

Portfolio.

The art collection is enviable. For a moment, I had flashes of decking Benny and jumping out the window with his Barry McGee bottles. Considering the ramifications (resulting awkwardness, broken bones, bad look) decided against it.

Andy Jenkins. DUUUDE.

Dalek.

Benny was talking about donating this Ray Fong piece to a museum and then I decked him and jumped out the window with it said “No, don’t do that.”

I interrupted Levi’s afternoon prayer.

Yohei (W-base) dropped by.

And then Benny dropped the knowledge.

Diggin’ in the crates. Hardcore treasures.

Thanks for inviting us into your home, Levi.

We’re in town to celebrate THSF’s first anniversary, and also to pop off our limited hats/tee drop this morning.

Dorian.

First in line. Well-rested.

Another Alex.

Lee (Creature) sent over one of the best boxes ever. Creature skate decks, tees, bottle openers, beanie masks, koozies, even a party cooler.

But this was the clincher. A couple coffin completes.

Had to take it for a test drive. (Kinda sketchy filming with the MarkII and riding chunks, probably not the smartest idea.)

Pat tried to one-up with his Crailtap board.. nice try.

While we’re on the subject, 1 word. Gravette.

Spring cleaning continues, as Glad-bags of old t-shirts are making their way to my local Goodwill. As I was dumping out the closet earlier tonight, I unearthed some jersey treasures. Some, over 15 years old.
First up, gotta pay my respects. Vintage UNBROKEN t-shirt from high school. A definite keeper, can’t bare to see this go. Especially right in time for the reunion show this May with Swing Kids and Undertow (See you there Jason!).

Speaking of old hardcore tees, what about this Indecision shirt from the ’98 summer tour? Milhouse was rambunctious.

The show was good, but the main reason I threw down $10 (!!!) for the merch was because one of my favorite graffiti artists at the time had contributed the back graphic. Giant One. AKA Mike Giant.

This is from the 10th grade and I loved the Fila rip. At the time, skateboarding was near-defunct, and most non-skaters had never heard of Etnies. ”What’s Ernies?”

One of the best Supreme t-shirts from the glory days. Had to be right around the turn of the millenium..

Maybe the very first Stussy x HUF collab? Not sure. Simplicity is key.

Speaking of faves, here’s one of my favorite The Hundreds t-shirts in almost 6 years of doing this. CANS. Since then, I’ve seen at least 4 other brands/artists/designers do the same flip, but it’s all good. Wasn’t that original to begin with.. in fact, it was painfully obvious to me when I first drew it up.

This is one of our first 5 graphics. I believe it was called OE. You’re not looking at much, just some Old English type and a stroke. Which is why I can’t hate on all the newjacks who’re starting their own lines with (what appears to many as) poorly designed t-shirts. Let ‘em hate, kid. Keep on keepin’ on.

Here’s an early graphic that never saw daylight. Perhaps you can see why.

Puffy AmiYumi x Bape. Yes, I had a thing for A Bathing Ape almost a decade ago. And in many ways, still do.

Mighty Healthy x Dave’s Quality Meat. MH started up not too long after we did, and I remember when Denis/Ray first hit us up. Ben and I were buggin’ on this New York brand that had magically locked down all the best streetwear accounts in the country (at the time, there were about 6 of ‘em). We’ve all come a long way since then.

Back to the hardcore tees. One of the greatest punk albums of my generation.. Avail’s 4 a.m. Friday. It was a dream come true to work with Tim and the guys a few years ago on our Avail x The Hundreds collaboration. LIVING WAGES NOW!

Every few years, I gotta re-up on one of these.

Second-guessing all the Goodwill stuff now.. it’s hard saying goodbye to friends.
