7.13.15 :: GOOD ART, Jordan, 3Sixteen

Nike Air Jordan Retro 7 “Bordeux” – There are some sneakers known simply by their nicknames, and this particular Jordan 7 happens to be one of them. The sneaker is largely black and grey nubuck, but the hint of burgundy on the tongue, Jumpman, and outsole has them affectionately known as “Bordeaux.” For this retro release, Brand Jordan promises a product that is more similar to the original. Whether it’s better materials, shape, or just having some person wipe the excess glue off of the uppers Nike is looking to charge more. These are set to drop next Saturday, and retail is set at $190.

Cassie Ventura x Diamond Supply Co. – Hot chicks on graphic T-shirts are kinda played, but there’s always an exception. Cassie Ventura is as good as any to give the photograph tee another look. The musical artist has been tapped by Diamond Supply Co. to star in her own summer capsule collection. Inspired by the vibrant colors of Spain the photos have Cassie dripping in paint. The small collection is available now at PacSun stores, as well as online.

Star Trek Bluetooth Communicator – With how powerful smartphones are now, it’s hard to imagine that the Original Star Trek saw the Communicator as an essential tool in the 24th century. But, nerds go hard in the paint and someone has licensed the original Communicator and made it into a functional Bluetooth device. The flip-up design will allow you to answer phone calls and the knobs and dials make sound effects. Priced at $149.95 the build quality is top-notch, but reserved only for die-hard Trekkies.

3Sixteen x Rivet & Hide – Having partnered up with SelfEdge 3Sixteen is no stranger to artisan denim, and the New York-based brand is now teaming up with London’s Rivet & Hide. This collaborative effort has both brands going as far as the renowned Kuroki Mills of Japan to create a pair of 15 oz sanforized jeans. Unlike most slim cut denim these have a mid-rise cut to allow more room for your legs, and the taper is not nearly as aggressive. These are made for those who want a slimming look, but also enjoy their time in the weight room.

Nike Air Huarache Flyknit – The textile that has had the most impact on the sneaker game in the last couple of years has been the Flyknit. Nike has been selective about where this knit upper has been applied, and recently elected to throw it on a classic. The sockliner of the Huarache will now be infused with the one-piece upper. Using a white black color scheme, the Flyknit edition of the Nike Air Huarache is available at select retailers with a retail for $170.
